Best Beginner D&D Miniatures

Your first D&D miniature should make the game easier to imagine, not harder to shop for. The best beginner choice depends on whether you are a player, a Dungeon Master, a painter, or someone buying a gift.
For players
Start with a miniature that looks like your character: class, weapon, armor, pose, or general mood. It does not need to be perfect. It just needs to feel like something you want to put on the table.

For Dungeon Masters
Start with common enemies: skeletons, goblins, orcs, spiders, undead, and one larger boss-style creature. These get used often and help players understand encounters faster.
For painters
Choose an unpainted model with clear details and not too many tiny fragile parts. A good beginner miniature should feel relaxing, not punishing.
For the table
Terrain and bases are underrated beginner buys. They make simple encounters feel like real scenes without needing a huge collection.
